Lactation Consultant

Amy Clark is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and a Registered Nurse with over 20 years experience. She offers pre-natal lactation visits (breastfeeding education) and individualized comprehensive lactation consults after your baby is born.

Becoming a Certified Lactation Educator and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2011, Amy aims to educate and support new families in their experience of parenthood, giving them the tools to meet their own goals as a family.

Amy works closely with home birth midwives in San Francisco and has a collaborative relationship with many top birth doulas.

Having a strong medical background, she appreciates the technological advances of Western medicine, but also believe that new mothers and babies benefit better from staying home together in the initial days after birth so that they can comfortably breastfeed, bond, heal and rest. 

During her nursing career, Amy worked in a wide variety of positions ranging from Charge Nurse for Child and Adolescent in-patient units, Intake Nurse and Trauma Nurse.

Amy is also a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) and the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA).
