Sharing the Gift of Wellness: Homeless Prenatal Program

10% of all proceeds from Blue Ova Health gift card purchases will go directly to the Homeless Prenatal Program.

On this #GivingTuesday, we are excited to share the news of our partnership with the Homeless Prenatal Program.

At Blue Ova Health, we believe every women and child should have access to prenatal care from the first trimester, for the health and well-being of the mother and child.

We had a chance to tour the Homeless Prenatal Program's impressive facilities a few days ago, and met some of their incredible employees (over half of whom are former clients!), families and children. HPP’s mission, services and results completely blew us away.

HPP serves a vital role in the lives of some of San Francisco’s most vulnerable people: pregnant, homeless women, and their children.

HPP works by joining with families to break the cycle of childhood poverty. They do this by seizing the motivational opportunity created by pregnancy and parenthood, and empowering them to find within themselves the strength and confidence they need to transform their lives.

The program offers a wide array of vital services for mental health, housing and substance abuse problems. It combines those with alternative health approaches not usually available to the poor, like acupuncture, yoga, massage and chiropractic treatments.

The Homeless Prenatal Program has evolved over the past 25 years from focusing solely on prenatal care for mothers, to then also keeping healthy babies, to then becoming a resource dedicated to stabilizing entire families. More than 3,500 families access HPP’s services each year, with nearly 200 families coming to HPP for the first time every month.

Check out this inspiring video to find out more about HPP and the essential role they play in our community.
