Chinese herbal medicine is a safe and natural treatment for many common health conditions. Taking herbs is similar to getting a mini acupuncture treatment every day. When taken daily, the herbs send signals to remind your body where it should be at each phase of your cycle.
Putting Training Wheels on your Cycle
If you are actively trying to conceive, we focus on supporting each phase for conception:
During days 1-3 of your cycle we give a customized formula to encourage your body to shed your uterine lining. This is important so that fresh blood can rebuild in your uterine lining after your menses have finished. Any older stuck blood needs to fully be released.
For cycle day 4-14 we again give a customized formula to encourage your body to bring nourishment to the lead follicle. This follicle is developing and maturing each day until it ovulates mid-cycle.
On cycle day 15-28 we give our third customized formula that encourages your body to keep progesterone high. Keeping progesterone high is critical to supporting the implantation phase.
If you are not actively trying to get pregnant, we focus on balancing hormones at each of these phases.
A Customized Process
For each phase, we customize a formula that fits your body and your Chinese Medical constitution. This constitution is something that we determine during your initial consultation. Every person that is evaluated will likely receive a different formula, even if the conditions are the same. Since each body is different, the reason for a disorder’s existence will be unique as well.
A Dynamic Process
The process is dynamic and your herbs are adjusted as your situation changes. We encourage you to have herbs for your entire cycle. Each cycle we re-evaluate and re-formulate the herbs for that cycle. All shifts in the formula are determined based on improvements in signs and symptoms. The measure for these signs are blood quality and quantity during the menstrual time, as well as how you are feeling physically.
