The newest (and littlest) Blue Ova team member arrived this fall! Co-founder Shannon Kidwell gave birth to a big, beautiful and healthy baby boy in September. He was grown with love and the full support of the Blue Ova practitioners to aid in a healthy pregnancy.
During her journey, she recieved weekly prenatal acupuncture throughout each trimester, including pre-birth acupuncture during weeks 36-40 to help reduce the length of labor, prevent an overdue birth, and accelerate cervical ripening and dilation. At week 40 she received acupuncture labor induction support, which helped stimulate her body to naturally go into labor.
She was also grateful to receive prenatal massage during all three trimesters, to help ease discomfort as well as support labor preparation during her final weeks.
Soon after birth, in addition to continuing weekly postnatal acupuncture to aid in recovery, she was given a Mother Roasting acupuncture treatment which involves the gentle warming of the acupuncture points that run through the lower abdomen and lower back, used to circulate and stimulate blood flow in the uterus and pelvic area for healing.
Postnatally, she has also utilized the amazing breastfeeding support of Blue Ova Lactation Consultant Amy Clark, regular mama massages to help restore and realign the body, and placenta encapsulation to aid postpartum wellness and hormonal balance from our Resident Doula Shannon Padlog.
We are constantly in awe of the incredible transformation that women undergo during pregnancy and are proud of our mamas and their babies. Follow us on Instagram @blueovahealth for more photos of our baby tribe.
